Legacy

[edit]

In the British TV series Peep Show - Peep Show (British TV series) - the main characters make decisions via reference to what Bob Ross, whom they call 'God', is doing on that day's show: 'Mark and Jeremy refer to Bob Ross as God ("What's God up to?", "If's God's doing mountains or sky or water I'll call"' - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0672476/movieconnections/ 203.220.28.164 (talk) 11:46, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bob was a cardentor before he was a painter.

I assume you mean carpenter? The article already mentions this in the Early life section. Tollens (talk) 01:02, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Twitch

[edit]

The article mentions what seems to have been some special event in 2015, rebroadcasting "The Joy of Painting". As of 2024 there is a twitch channel running episodes 24/7, maybe that would also be worth mentioning in the article. --BjKa (talk) 13:04, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Also please indicate where this should be placed in the article. LizardJr8 (talk) 20:17, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Under Personal life, in the third paragraph, please remove the sentence “Other conversations were destroyed as part of a legal settlement between Ross's family and Bob Ross Inc”. Checked the entire source and it does not mention this. The closest thing that could be found to this claim would be that Ross recorded phone conversations but there’s absolutely nothing in the article about the aforementioned claim. 2600:100C:A20D:BB75:B88F:5C3A:6325:A427 (talk) 13:17, 23 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Done I have removed that sentence. It was misleading in that context anyway, as there is no previous mention in that section of Ross recording conversations. Also per the source, one of those recorded conversations was used to prove that Ross had permission to film that show. It then says In April 1997, almost two years after Bob died, Jimmie signed an agreement on behalf of Bob’s estate to settle the Kowalskis’ lawsuit. The destruction of the audiotapes was one of the key clauses. The source is unclear on whether it was just the recordings of conversations between Bob and the Kowalskis that were destroyed or every recording that Bob had made. Regardless, it didn't fit where it was. Schazjmd (talk) 14:53, 23 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
